About

My name is Chris Chandler and I’ve been working to roll out Internet services for use on the mobile phone across Asia for nearly five years. To find out more about my background, check out http://chrischandler.com.

Over the past few years, I’ve become very fascinated with how mobile Internet services are adopted in emerging markets where the number of mobile subscribers far outnumber the number of PC Internet users. Conventional wisdom suggests that people start using Internet services and consume content on a PC and eventually want to extend their use of those services to a mobile phone. My experience in markets like Indonesia, India, China and Thailand indicate that consumers in this part of the world are coming online via the mobile first.

I’ve created this blog to capture some of the news and stats I’ve seen related to this “Mobile First” phenomenon along with my own perspective.
